The Love of Family: Black Love is Agape (Unconditional) Love

THE LOVE OF FAMILY…

☆ Honestly, my mom actually didn’t always know everything (like she seemed to think she did! Lol!); she was not always right; & she did not always make “the best” decisions. However COMMA, she always had our best interest at heart & she always did the best she could with what she had to work with. Always.

☆ Love your family, friends, & others unconditionally; even after you feel as if you have been wronged. But, just remember, forgiveness doesn’t necessarily equal restoration. In other words, just because you love someone &/or forgive them does not mean have to automatically restore them to the exact place they once held in your life. Trust is earned; even by family members. 

☆ There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving your family (or your friends) through hard times; but take care not to handicap &/or enable them. Remember, you cannot want something more for someone than they want for themselves. 

☆ Never lend money you can’t afford to lose. In fact, if you must “lend” money to a family member or friend, just (selectively & responsibly) give/gift the money, with no expectation of return; it preserves the relationship. ~ Mr. Dave Ramsey

☆ Be honest with your children (at age-appropriate levels). If you don’t, someone else will. 

☆ Don’t live with regrets… Embrace your family members, openly express your love for them, & unify while you still can!
