It’s All About The One(s) You Love…

It’s All About the One(s) You Love…

☆ Live. Learn. Laugh. Black LOVE.

☆ When you know, you know…In the illustrious words of the handsome, wise, & talented Artist, Common, “It don’t take a whole day to recognize sunshine” (or rain for that matter!).

☆ Simply put, love is a decision. So, make up your mind!

☆ Don’t be colorblind when it comes to love. Pay close attention to the RED FLAGS!

☆ Be loyal. Be willing to “ryde or die” for/with the “right” one.

☆ Give each new relationship a fair, fighting chance. Do not make your mate pay for others’ mistakes.

☆ True intimacy lies in allowing yourself to be “mentally & emotionally naked.” Therein lies your freedom. ~ Dr. Dan Borotto

☆ Never use physical intimacy (or the lack thereof) as a weapon, threat, or bargaining tool.

☆ Communicate clearly, openly, & honestly & always give your loved one(s) the right to choose. (Give them the raw, unadulterated facts & allow them to decide for themselves.)

☆ Be sincere. Lies of commission (telling outright lies) or omission (leaving essential parts of the story out) are still LIES.

☆ “[Burn me] once shame on you, [burn me] twice shame on me…” ~ Mama Mary

☆ Whether you’re married, engaged, dating, “boo’ed up,” just kickin it, friends with benefits, or whatever you want to call it, NO really does mean NO. Respect others’ choices.

☆ It’s okay to be wrong. Being able to accept & admit when you are wrong is a huge step toward your pathway to peace.

☆ Learn to simply & sincerely apologize; it goes a long way. (And, needless to say, do your level best not to repeat the same mistakes!).

☆ “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” ~ The Illustrious Words of the Late, Great Dr. Maya Angelou

☆ Just be yourself; & be an open book. They either accept you or they don’t. It’s just that simple.

☆ Whether we wanted to believe it or not way back when, she was actually right–“marriage IS [indeed] a business” after all! Ha! Who knew?! ~ MO (circa ’92)

☆ People have time for what they make time for. Listen to what they SAY but, more importantly, believe what they DO! (Translation: What we do is just as important as what we say, if not more.)

☆ Contrary to popular belief, you CAN have it all. Just make sure all parties involved are down with the plan!

☆ We’re a movement all by ourselves; but we are definitely more of a force when we’re together. ~ Fabolous

☆ Keep the love alive; keep the relationship fresh; & don’t be afraid to try new things…No matter how long you’ve been together or how old you may get, NEVER STOP DATING (each other, I mean!)!!!
